For the third time in Ukraine, the internationally-recognised FTBE teacher training course provides a fantastic opportunity to expand the skills in your portfolio and obtain a practical qualification to certify your ability to teach Business English classes. You will also greatly develop your understanding of best practice in both planning and structuring courses from an expert in the field.

This prestigious qualification is aimed at practising teachers with a level of English at C1 and above. 

The training will be conducted by:

Philip Warwick,

an experienced international Business English trainer who has worked on three different continents and managed large-scale projects in Georgia and Great Britain.

Originally from the UK, Philip is now based in Brno in the Czech Republic.

 

 

Daniel Broomfield,

an experienced EFL teacher and teacher trainer who obtained his FTBE qualification in 2016.

Daniel has taught in the UK, France and Italy as well as managing Business English courses here in Kyiv.

 

 

FTBE is a 40-hour course consisting of 30 hours’ input and 10 hours’ guided homework (reading or action research) tasks, plus a post-course reflection and the LCCI FTBE exam.  The training will cover four days from Monday to Thursday with the examination to be taken approximately one week later.  The course can be taken independently of the final exam.

You will cover the following segments of teaching Business English:

• Business Correspondence and Business Concepts
• Business Skills and Simulations
• Skills Assessment
• Needs and Analysis, Syllabus Design and Assessment
• Authentic Materials and How to Find and Use them
• Business Grammar and Vocabulary
• Cultural Awareness and Social English
• Blended Learning and ESP
• Lesson Planning
• Exam Preparation 

Each session will contain tips and strategies that deal with:

• Knowledge of Business Topics
• Business Communication Skills
• Relevant Classroom Methodology and Materials  

Everyone who completes the course will receive a course completion certificate in addition to being prepared for the LCCI FTBE exam (London Chamber of Commerce and Industry First Certificate for Teachers of Business English), which will be conducted approximately one week after the course concludes to allow time for further study and reflection.

LCCI First Certificate for Teachers of Business English (FTBE) allows qualified General English teachers to gain a specialist qualification in teaching English for business purposes. Designed to broaden teachers' management skills as well as their understanding of business practice, processes and procedures, it prepares them to teach the growing number of learners who aspire to use English in a professional, business context.
